A 25-year-old man has been apprehended for posing as the Uttar Pradesh Human Rights Commission's chairman in a fraudulent scheme aimed at securing official protections. The individual, identified as Anas Malik, a Moradabad resident, sent fictitious letters to district magistrates in four districts, requesting protection for an alleged program scheduled for November.
Authorities became suspicious of the man's purported official communications, prompting an investigation that uncovered his deceitful acts. Malik, who did not progress beyond the 10th grade in formal education, had previously held a job as a driver. He used the Commission's fake emblem and forged seals to enhance the credibility of his letters.
To further bolster his act, Malik included fictitious staff details and traveled with an accomplice dressed in official attire. The situation was eventually uncovered by law enforcement, leading to Malik's arrest and exposure of the fraudulent plot.
