The Kolkata Police made a significant breakthrough in a fake passport operation by arresting an additional suspect from Chakdaha in the Nadia district of West Bengal on Wednesday. This new arrest increases the total number of individuals apprehended in the case to eight.
Following leads provided by the arrested mastermind, Manoj Gupta, the police conducted a late-night raid at the residence of Dhiren Ghosh in Chakdaha. This operation uncovered a massive trove of documents, primarily various identity cards, which were confiscated for further investigation.
A senior police officer revealed, 'Manoj Gupta is the kingpin of the racket, and the arrested individual in Nadia assisted infiltrators in obtaining fake passports. We are currently exploring his specific role in the broader conspiracy.'
