Sri Lankan Government Hit by Cyberattacks on Social Media and Website
Sri Lankan police's social media and the government's Printer Department website faced cyberattacks this Tuesday. While social media platforms were restored, YouTube is still under recovery. The hackers are identified, and investigations are ongoing. CERT confirmed limited data addition without compromise on the Printer Department's site.

The official social media accounts of the Sri Lankan police were the targets of a cyberattack on Tuesday, with platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X being affected, according to official reports.
Police Spokesman Superintendent K B Manathunga confirmed that while all accounts have been restored except for YouTube, the hackers responsible have been identified, and investigations are currently underway.
Additionally, the official website of the government's Printer Department faced a similar breach; however, the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) ensured that no data was compromised, although certain data additions were noted.
