Escalating Tensions: U.S. Strikes Houthi Targets in Yemen

Escalating military tensions in Yemen continued as Houthi spokesperson Mohammed Abdulsalam vowed the group would continue its defense following targeted U.S. strikes in the capital, Sanaa. The attacks occurred on Monday and Tuesday, aimed at critical Houthi infrastructure, according to U.S. Central Command.

The U.S. military targeted Houthi command and control facilities, along with sites related to advanced conventional weapons, which included storage for missiles and uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs). Central Command confirmed these details in a social media statement.

The Iran-supported Houthis have been disrupting commercial navigation in the Red Sea, asserting their actions are in solidarity with Palestinians amidst ongoing conflict in Gaza, thus contributing to regional instability and drawing international attention.
