The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has released a video asserting their capture of a Pakistani check post near the Afghanistan border in the Bajaur district.
According to TTP sources, the post was captured on Monday in the tribal district located in northwest Pakistan.
In response, a senior Pakistan security official explained that the post had been vacated under a 'thinning' strategy, meaning it had been abandoned and forces redirected to more secure locations. This strategy was not unique to Bajaur but also applied to the North and South Waziristan districts.
