The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has ramped up efforts in its ongoing probe into extortion and money laundering activities allegedly conducted by a naxal group in Jharkhand's Chatra district. On Monday, agency officials conducted searches at three key locations as part of their investigation.

During the operation, several mobile phones, SIM cards, and other related items were seized from the premises linked to suspects and overground workers associated with the Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC). The TSPC is a splinter group of the banned CPI (Maoist) terror organization, highlighting the gravity of the situation.

The case, initially registered by Tandwa police in 2016, was taken over by the NIA in February 2018. Since then, 21 accused individuals have been chargesheeted, with investigations still underway.
