Tensions in Sambhal: SP Delegation Extends Support Amid Local Unrest

Amid escalating tensions in Sambhal, the Samajwadi Party (SP) delegation led by Mata Prasad Pandey visited victims' families, distributing monetary aid following a violent clash with police during a mosque survey. Allegations of police misconduct and governmental insensitivity were raised, highlighting community tensions and political strife in the region.

Tensions continue to simmer in Sambhal as a Samajwadi Party (SP) delegation, led by Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, took significant steps to support families affected by the November 24 violence. Each family received Rs 5 lakh as aid from the SP to alleviate the aftermath of the tragic events.

Pandey accused the police of harassing Muslims and lambasted the government for perceived insensitivity towards minority communities. He criticized the government, alleging they exploit communal sentiments for political gain and draw comparisons with figures like Dawood Ibrahim, disregarding the sacrifices of national heroes.

The violence, which resulted in four deaths and multiple injuries, erupted during a court-mandated survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid, over disputed land claims. Entry for outsiders into Sambhal has been restricted, and attempts by SP MPs to visit were thwarted by police actions.
