Punjab Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa has launched a scathing attack on the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government for its alleged mishandling of the ongoing farmers' agitation in the state. Bajwa, currently serving as the Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, accused the government of betraying the agrarian community's interests and collaborating with the BJP to undermine the state's legacy.

The Punjab bandh, called by two farmers' unions leading the protests, was described by Bajwa as a historic demonstration of unity among the farmers. He emphasized the legitimacy of their demands and criticized both the state and central governments for their failure to adequately address the concerns of Punjab's farmers. A key point of contention remains the demand for an assured Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops, which Bajwa stressed is critical for protecting farmers' livelihoods.

Expressing concern over the indefinite hunger strike by farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, which has reached its 35th day, Bajwa condemned the deployment of significant police forces and questioned Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's leadership. He urged the government to urgently meet the farmers' demands and prevent violence against peaceful protesters, warning that any harm would be seen as a grave betrayal.
