Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has initiated a pivotal reform to refine the list of below poverty line (BPL) families in the state.
During a review meeting, Sukhu ordered the creation of a transparent process to ensure only deserving families are included, with new criteria to be introduced by January 2025 after Cabinet approval.
To support this effort, a sub-divisional committee will verify the BPL families. Furthermore, steps are being taken to launch a website for Women Self Help Groups, boosting their economic empowerment.
