Arrests Made Following NCC Camp Assault

Two individuals have been apprehended for allegedly assaulting an Army officer at an NCC cadet camp in KMM College, Thrikkakara. The accused, Nishad from Fort Kochi and Navas from Palluruthi, were identified by Kochi city police as the perpetrators of the attack on Lieutenant Colonel Karneyil Singh.
The altercation occurred amidst heightened tensions after more than 60 cadets reportedly experienced suspected food poisoning. The alleged assailants trespassed into the college's camp, confronted Lieutenant Colonel Singh, and attacked him with a sharpened object, obstructing his duties.
Authorities swiftly registered an FIR, following a complaint by the officer, and have charged the suspects under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The charges include criminal trespass, wrongful restraint, intimidation, and voluntarily causing harm.
