Finnish investigators have discovered an anchor drag mark at the seabed of the Baltic Sea, potentially linked to a Russia-associated vessel, in connection with recent damage to the Estlink-2 power cable and multiple data cables.

Sami Paila, the lead investigator, revealed that the mark spanned nearly a hundred kilometers and was associated with the Eagle S vessel, confirmed through underwater research. The investigation aims to explore whether the damage was intentional.

The vessel, now moored near Porvoo, faces charges of aggravated interference and vandalism, raising security alarms. Additionally, Norway will boost Baltic patrols following Finland's NATO inclusion amid ongoing geopolitical tensions with Russia.
