High-Stakes Bust: Heroin and Ganja Seizure at Erode Railway

In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW) police in Erode confiscated heroin valued at Rs 35 lakh. The seizure, made on Wednesday, targeted two individuals identified as Assam natives.
Acting on a tip-off, authorities raided the two-wheeler parking area of the Erode Railway Junction. Upon inspection, police uncovered 50 grams of heroin concealed within a bag carried by the suspects, aged 29 and 30. The duo admitted to smuggling the drugs from Assam for lucrative sales in Erode.
In a related operation, the PEW police apprehended another man on Tuesday evening near the Erode Railway Station with three kilograms of ganja. Originating from Odisha, the suspect was detained, and further investigations are ongoing.
