Differently-abled individuals gathered outside the Vidhan Bhavan complex on Wednesday, voicing their grievances against the Maharashtra government. The protesters, affiliated with Vidarbha Viklang Sangharsh Samiti, demanded the state provide Rs 6,000 monthly financial aid and sought a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Among their demands is the inclusion of Rs 2,50,000 marriage funding under the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana and the establishment of business kiosks near bus stops. The agitation, strongly targeting the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP coalition, highlights broader systemic issues faced by the community.
The protest took place as the Maharashtra legislature's winter session convened in Nagpur. The assembly will address multiple concerns, including the pressing demands of the differently-abled community seeking support and empowerment.
