Russia has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting its citizens and peacekeeping forces stationed in Transdniestria, a region within Moldova.

Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian foreign ministry, emphasized on Wednesday that any provocations would be met with an adequate response from Moscow.

Zakharova stated that actions threatening Russian citizens, peacekeepers, and military holdings in Transdniestria would be perceived as direct aggression against Russia.
