An army officer and his fiancee have come forward before a judicial commission to report alleged torture by police officers in Bhubaneswar's Bharatpur police station. The couple's account is at the heart of an investigation triggered by widespread public uproar.
Over 500 affidavits have been submitted in relation to the case, as the commission, headed by Justice Chittaranjan Dash, continues its inquiry. The commission may also conduct a site visit to Bharatpur police station. The next hearing is scheduled for November 30.
