The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has launched an extensive probe into allegations of service failings and issues with electric two-wheelers produced by Ola Electric. The move follows over 10,000 grievances registered through the National Consumer Helpline (NCH).
Guided by Nidhi Khare, the CCPA has tasked the Director General of Investigation, also in charge of the Bureau of Indian Standards, to lead this inquiry. An order for the investigation was issued on November 6, mandating a report submission within a 15-day period.
In response to a notice issued on October 7 that cited violations of consumer rights and trade practices, Ola Electric claims to have addressed 99.1% of the 10,644 complaints. However, the investigation into the company's practices will continue.
