Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, landed in Ankara on Thursday for a significant meeting focused on investment and trade with Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan. The meeting, under the banner of the Turkey-Qatar High Strategic Committee, aims to fortify bilateral ties.
The session also marks a pause in Qatar's mediation between Hamas and Israel, emphasizing that a ceasefire and hostage release would require more commitment from both sides. Turkey, while critical of Israel's actions in Gaza and Lebanon, maintains its stance that Hamas is not a terrorist group.
The leaders will engage in a one-on-one discussion followed by the strategic committee assembly, culminating in the signing of various accords related to investment and trade, symbolizing a deepening partnership between the two nations.
