A Delhi court on Thursday granted bail to AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan, a move that the AAP claims highlights the 'false case' leveled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. The bail relates to a money-laundering case linked to alleged irregularities within the Delhi Waqf Board.
Senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh expressed relief, stating that Modi's administration failed in its efforts to undermine Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP. In solidarity, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai remarked that the court's decision was inevitable, paving the way for a robust campaign for the upcoming Delhi elections.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested Khan in early September, citing accusations from two FIRs related to the Delhi Waqf Board corruption and a disproportionate assets case. However, the court refused to acknowledge the charge sheet and ordered Khan's release.
