A tragic incident unfolded in Haryana's Palwal district when an explosion, resulting from a gas pipeline leakage, claimed the life of a shopkeeper, Harichand Singla. The explosion was triggered accidentally during water pipeline repair work by the Public Health Department, leading to the arrest of four individuals.
The arrested include Amit, the executive engineer of the Public Health Department, and Vishal, a supervisor with Adani Gas. Their detention followed a detailed FIR investigation. The explosion, occurring on Old GT Road, also injured three others and led to significant property damage in the area.
The bereaved family, supported by local business groups, demanded compensation of 1 crore and employment for Singla's son, forcing authorities to intervene to maintain peace. Meanwhile, gas supply to 5,000 households and water supply in Moti Colony remain disrupted, with investigations ongoing.
