Tensions flared in Bhensi village as the local village head, along with three others, allegedly obstructed the funeral rites of Baburam, a Dalit who passed away on November 9. According to the complaint filed by Sonia, derogatory remarks against Dalits were made during the incident.

The situation escalated when village head Amit Ahlavat and his group intervened as Baburam’s body was being carried to the crematorium. The timely intervention by police ensured that the funeral proceeded as planned later on November 9.

Authorities have registered a case against the accused under sections of the BNS Act that address caste-based discrimination and related atrocities. The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing, as confirmed by Circle Officer Ramashish Yadav.
