Justice Sanjiv Khanna Announces New Supreme Court Case Allocation Roster

Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna has issued a new case allocation roster for 16 benches at the Supreme Court, effective from November 11. The CJI and senior judges will handle letter petitions and PILs. Justice JB Pardiwala will focus on tax and civil cases.

Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna has introduced a new roster for the distribution of cases to 16 benches at the Supreme Court.

Effective from November 11, the first three courts, headed by the CJI and two senior-most judges, will oversee letter petitions and PILs.

Justice JB Pardiwala is assigned tax and civil cases, while CJI's bench covers social justice and election disputes. Former CJI Lalit's approach of assigning PILs to all benches was altered by his successor.
