In a grim turn of events in southeast Delhi, five men have been apprehended by police over allegations of gang-raping a 17-year-old girl and her aunt in Lajpat Nagar. Police unveiled the harrowing details on Tuesday, following an incident that occurred Saturday night.
The case emerged when the victims sought medical assistance at Safdarjung Hospital on Sunday, prompting law enforcement to record their statements. The accused, identified as local drivers and security guards, reportedly offered the women a ride outside a club in Defence Colony.
According to police reports, the women were provided soft drinks laced with alcohol and were subsequently taken to a house in Kasturba Niketan, where the alleged assault occurred. Following their medical examinations, a case under relevant laws, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, was registered as investigations continue.
