An Israeli airstrike ravaged the northern Lebanese town of Ain Yaaqoub on Monday, resulting in the deaths of at least 14 individuals and injuring 15 more, according to the town's mayor.
The strike, which represents the northernmost attack by Israeli forces since hostilities erupted in October 2023, targeted a building occupied by 30 people, including Syrian refugees, Reuters learned from Mayor Majed Drbes. Rescue efforts are ongoing, with some individuals reportedly still trapped beneath the rubble.
Earlier, the Lebanese health ministry reported another Israeli raid in the Sidon District's Al-Saksakieh that killed at least seven people and injured seven others.
