Manipur's Violent Unrest Escalates with Fresh Attacks

Eleven suspected militants were killed in a deadly exchange of gunfire with security forces in Manipur's Jiribam district on Monday. The confrontation began when insurgents attacked a police station and a nearby CRPF camp, according to officials.
The violence resulted in two CRPF personnel sustaining injuries, one of them critically. Following the incident, fresh reports of violence surfaced from several locations in the Imphal Valley, escalating existing tensions in the region.
The Kuki-Zo Council announced a complete shutdown in the hill areas to mourn the loss of lives. The attack, which saw militants torch several buildings, has prompted an ongoing investigation as reinforcement teams work to restore order.
