The Enforcement Directorate (ED) announced on Monday that it has successfully 'restituted' a plot of land worth more than Rs 12 crore in Chennai, returning it to its rightful owner after it was illegally sold by land grabbers.
This decisive action was brought under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), following a criminal case lodged by the agency on the basis of a First Information Report (FIR) filed by the central crime branch (CCB) of Chennai Police, according to an official statement.
Reaffirming its commitment to tackling financial crimes, the Enforcement Directorate stated that the restitution of the land marks a significant step in its ongoing efforts to return crimes' proceeds to their rightful owners, emphasizing its dedication to delivering justice to victims.
