Yasin Malik, a separatist leader convicted in a terror-funding case, is seeking medical attention from the Delhi High Court amid allegations of life-threatening health conditions. Currently serving a life sentence at Tihar Jail, Malik has been on a hunger strike since November 1, demanding urgent hospitalization. The court has scheduled his petition for hearing on November 18.

The court emphasized that, in the interim, Malik will continue to receive medical treatment according to prison regulations. Additional Solicitor General Chetan Sharma informed the court that Tihar Jail is equipped with a proper jail hospital to cater to Malik's needs. Reports submitted to the court noted that Malik ended his hunger strike on November 8.

Despite the court's direction to ensure necessary medical care, Malik's counsel highlighted his demands for physical court appearances and treatment at AIIMS or other super-specialty hospitals, citing severe cardiac and kidney issues. Malik faces life imprisonment under multiple charges, with the National Investigation Agency seeking to enhance his sentence to the death penalty.
