Duo Nabbed with Ganja Haul on Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway
Two individuals were arrested in Maharashtra's Palghar district for possessing ganja valued at Rs 8.72 lakh. Police discovered 13.5 kg of the contraband in a car during a raid near the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway. In a significant drug bust, authorities in Maharashtra's Palghar district have apprehended two men in possession of ganja valued at Rs 8.72 lakh. The arrest occurred following a raid conducted by the police on Saturday in Shivacha Pada of Vasai, close to the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway.
During the operation, law enforcement officials found 13.5 kg of the illegal substance stashed inside a parked car. The vehicle's occupants, identified as Santosh Ramjit Jaiswar, 26, and Vikas Zinjute, 22, were detained and subsequently charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The police continue to investigate the source of the narcotics and the potential buyers the apprehended individuals planned to supply. Senior Inspector Pramod Badakh stated that further leads are being pursued to disrupt the drug distribution network.
