The Madhya Pradesh government has intensified its security measures by appealing for two more CRPF battalions from the Centre. This request arises due to a potential influx of Naxal militants from neighboring states into the Balaghat area, expanding the current deployment of three battalions in the state.
Authorities in Madhya Pradesh are on high alert as they foresee Naxal groups, under pressure in Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, relocating across state lines. Inspector General of Police Sanjay Kumar emphasized the strategic placement of security camps to reinforce border security.
Inspector General Kumar further noted that inter-state coordination has been ramped up, with joint operations conducted alongside Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. The Balaghat zone now stands as a critical defensive line within the larger MCC (Maharashtra, MP, Chhattisgarh) zone against Naxal insurgency.
