Justice Sanjiv Khanna was officially sworn in as the 51st Chief Justice of India, an event witnessing a distinguished transition in the country's judiciary leadership.
In a congratulatory message, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge extended his best to Justice Khanna, emphasizing the significant expectations and scrutiny attached to this prestigious role.
The swearing-in ceremony was presided over by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where Khanna succeeds Justice D Y Chandrachud. Justice Khanna, born on May 14, 1960, will serve in his new capacity until May 13, 2025.
