In a shocking case of alleged honor killing, the Khatauli area of Uttar Pradesh has been gripped by the tragic murder of a 27-year-old woman. The police have apprehended her maternal uncle and cousin, who have confessed to the brutal act.
According to Superintendent of Police (City) Satyanarayan Prajapat, the two men admitted to murdering the woman because she intended to marry her partner, defying the family's strict opposition. Prajapat stated that the murder weapon, a pistol, was recovered during the investigation.
Reports indicate that the woman, who had already married her partner last October, was planning a traditional wedding ceremony. Despite her wishes, her maternal uncle and his sons vehemently opposed the union, resulting in the appalling event where she was found shot inside an abandoned car.
