Latur police have pioneered the use of drones to target illegal liquor operations in Maharashtra. This innovative approach resulted in the initiation of 67 cases and the confiscation of liquor valued at Rs 7.84 lakh.

Guided by Superintendent of Police Somay Munde and Additional SP Ajay Deore, drones covered vast areas, pinpointing clandestine distilleries in remote locations such as Kasarshirsi, Koulkhed, Janapur, and Maruti Tanda.

Besides locating hidden liquor production units, the drones are critical in capturing video and photographic evidence, strengthening legal actions against perpetrators.
