Deadly Strikes in Lebanon: Rising Tensions with Israel
Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon resulted in at least 20 fatalities and multiple injuries over the weekend. The attacks targeted Almat and Mashghara, while aiming at Hezbollah militants. The Israeli military has not yet commented on the incidents, which have sparked growing tensions in the region.
At least 20 people, including three children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Almat in Lebanon's Mount Lebanon province, according to the health ministry.
The ministry reported three more fatalities and two injuries from another Israeli airstrike on Mashghara in Western Bekaa late Saturday night. A separate attack that same night in Sahmar led to one death and four injuries.
The Israeli military, claiming its strikes target Hezbollah militants, has not provided a statement regarding the recent incidents. The violence underscores rising tensions between the two regions.
