The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force has successfully apprehended a fugitive who had previously escaped police custody in Maharashtra. On November 5, Prince Kailash Vishwakarma was arrested in Thane's Chitalsar Manpada area over gun possession charges.
However, he managed a daring escape from the police station that same night, prompting a widespread search. The Maharashtra police enlisted the help of the Uttar Pradesh STF to track down the escapee.
Vishwakarma had been on the run, moving around Lucknow to avoid capture until authorities located and arrested him in the Indiranagar area. Further legal proceedings are now in the pipeline, with Maharashtra Sub-Inspector Pankaj Lahane handling the case.
