Deadly Attack at Yemeni Training Camp Challenges Saudi-led Coalition
Two coalition forces members were killed by a Yemeni employee in Seiyun. The attack, which also injured an officer, happened at a training camp, and the motive is under investigation. The coalition has been involved in Yemen's conflict since 2015, though recent peace talks have brought relative calm.
A tragic incident unfolded in Yemen's Seiyun city on Friday when an employee of the Yemeni Ministry of Defense launched an attack that claimed the lives of two coalition force members. According to the Saudi state news agency, the coalition's spokesperson, Turki al-Malki, confirmed the attack on Saturday.
The assault also left one officer injured and occurred within a training camp dedicated to Yemeni forces in the eastern region's Hadhramaut province. Al-Malki emphasized that both coalition and Yemeni authorities are committed to conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the motives behind the attack and ensure justice is served.
The Saudi-led military alliance has been active in Yemen since 2015, stepping in after Iran-backed Houthis deposed the government in Sanaa. The country has witnessed nearly two years of relative peace due to direct negotiations between Saudi and Houthi representatives.
