Kolkata STF Cracks Down on Illegal Arms Operation

In a significant operation, the Special Task Force of the Kolkata Police apprehended Md Ismail Khan on Saturday. Authorities confiscated five firearms and 90 rounds of live ammunition near the bustling Sealdah railway station based on specific intelligence inputs.
The seized items included three single-shot firearms and two semi-automatic pistols. Police also recovered 50 rounds of 8 mm and 40 rounds of 7.65 mm cartridges. The accused is a resident of Jharkhand's Chatra district.
The swift action highlights the ongoing efforts to curb illegal arms trafficking in the region. The arrested individual is set to be presented in court on Sunday.
