Amidst ongoing tensions between India and the United States over Indian allegations targeting Sikh separatists, a significant phone conversation took place between National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and his Indian counterpart, Ajit Doval. The discussions centered around regional security, defense, and technological cooperation, as confirmed by the White House.
The call underscored the commitment to further stabilize the Indo-Pacific region and advance the bilateral relationship through initiatives such as the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) and the Indian Ocean Dialogue. Emphasis was also placed on clean energy supply chains and defense collaboration.
Meanwhile, concerning allegations from Canada regarding Union Home Minister Amit Shah's involvement in targeting Khalistani separatists drew attention. In response, the US acknowledged these claims but noted no involvement in the India-China border tension resolution, despite being briefed by New Delhi on the matter.
