Street Food Tragedy: Fatal Momos Lead to Arrests
Six individuals were arrested after a woman died and over 40 others were hospitalized due to allegedly contaminated momos in Hyderabad. In Hyderabad, six people have been arrested following the tragic death of a woman and the hospitalization of more than 40 others after consuming momos from street vendors, police announced on Wednesday.
After complaints from victims' families, two cases were registered, leading to the arrests under charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and other sections of the BNS Act. The incidents occurred after customers ate momos from various roadside stalls prepared by the accused individuals.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation revealed that the vendors were operating without a license, prompting officials to send food samples for analysis and order the closure of the business operations.
