An Abu Dhabi-bound Air Arabia flight was targeted by a false bomb threat, leading to the arrest of a man at Karipur International Airport, authorities disclosed on Wednesday.

Police identified the accused as Mohammed Ijas from Palakkad district. On Tuesday evening, the airport's director received an alarming email from Ijas, insisting a bomb had been placed on the plane flying from Kozhikode to Abu Dhabi.

Upon receiving the complaint, police quickly launched an investigation. With cyber police assistance, Ijas was arrested as he was about to board the same flight to Dubai. Police report he confessed, motivated by financial strains and the desire to cancel his journey.
