Russia has issued a formal protest against Finland after a court ruling ordered the confiscation of $4.25 billion in Russian assets within Finnish borders. These assets were seized at the request of Ukrainian state enterprise Naftogaz, escalating tensions between the nations.
The Russian Foreign Ministry disclosed that 45 properties under seizure include those used by the Russian Embassy. Russia claims this action breaches diplomatic immunity as stipulated by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
In a stern statement, Moscow demanded an immediate reversal of the order, warning of potential retaliatory actions should Finland fail to comply, placing full responsibility on Helsinki for any ensuing consequences.
