Delhi Police Arrests Builder for Rs 300 Crore Gurugram Fraud
Delhi Police have detained a 38-year-old builder, Varun Puri, for allegedly deceiving 485 flat buyers of over Rs 300 crore in Gurugram. Puri, wanted in 45 cases, was nabbed in Madhya Pradesh's Indore. His company, Universal Buildwell, failed to deliver promised flats, prompting multiple legal actions.

In a significant development, the Delhi Police have apprehended Varun Puri, a 38-year-old builder, in connection with swindling 485 flat buyers of over Rs 300 crore in Gurugram, according to officials.
Puri, wanted in at least 45 fraud cases and facing a Rs 1 lakh reward for his arrest, was declared a proclaimed offender by a court. He was captured in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on October 25, and is currently being interrogated by the Delhi Police Special Cell.
The investigation revealed that Puri, along with his family, launched a real estate project, Universal Aura, in Gurugram, promising flat deliveries by 2010. Failing to do so, numerous complaints were filed against them, leading to Puri's arrest.
