Mostafa Shalaby, Nabil Emad, and Zamalek's sporting director Abdel Wahed El Sayed have been given a one-month prison sentence and a fine of 200,000 dirhams each for their involvement in a scuffle during the Egyptian Super Cup semi-final. The incident incited riots and disturbed public order.
Zamalek players Mostafa Shalaby and Nabil Emad, alongside the club's sporting director, Abdel Wahed El Sayed, have been sentenced to one month in prison and fined 200,000 dirhams each. The sanctions come after a scuffle with a stadium organizer during the Egyptian Super Cup semi-final.
The altercation, which occurred at the Al Nahyan ground in Abu Dhabi, was described by the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court as acts that destabilized public order and incited violence among fans. The incident took place as Zamalek claimed victory over Pyramids in a nail-biting 5-4 penalty shootout on October 20.
In a statement released on the social media platform X, the court underscored the severity of their actions. While Zamalek declined to comment on the ruling, the court's decision highlights ongoing concerns about conduct in high-stakes tournament settings.
