The strategic importance of Arunachal Pradesh's international border was underscored on Tuesday during a key discussion on border management led by Governor Lt Gen (retd) K T Parnaik. In a significant move, the governor engaged with army officials, highlighting the essential modern strategies required to bolster security and safety along the sensitive frontier.

During his tour of various army posts in Tawang district, which lie along the critical Line of Actual Control (LAC), Governor Parnaik underscored the importance of physical fitness and mental alertness among troops. This encouragement for the troops came alongside a message to nurture a sense of security within the local communities, reflecting the area's strategic significance for national defense.

The governor's trip also included a somber tribute to the brave soldiers of 1962, with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tawang War Memorial. The memorial stands as a poignant reminder of the Indian soldiers' sacrifices during the Indo-China war, reinforcing the gravity of maintaining a secure and peaceful border.
