A Russian court sentenced IT specialist Firuz Dadoboev to 13.5 years in prison on treason charges, the Federal Security Service (FSB) announced Tuesday. He was accused of attempting to pass state secrets to the U.S. CIA.

According to the FSB, Dadoboev, who has dual Russian and American citizenship, illegally obtained state secrets and intended to transfer them to a CIA representative. His apprehension was captured on video in a wooded area in October 2022.

Dadoboev admitted his guilt, yet details on the secrets remain undisclosed. The CIA has not issued a comment, and efforts to contact Dadoboev were unsuccessful.
