In a dramatic development, the Kerala police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve into the controversial suicide of Naveen Babu, the former Additional District Magistrate of Kannur.
The case has caused a political firestorm, with opposition parties accusing the ruling CPI(M) government of shielding those responsible.
Headed by Ajit Kumar, District Police Chief, Kannur City, the SIT is set to investigate under the supervision of the DIG, Kannur Range, bringing a team of experienced officers to ensure a thorough probe.
