In a startling case out of Uttar Pradesh, police have charged a man accused of blackmailing his friend with a video of his wedding night. The accused, Shivam Mishra, allegedly convinced the victim to record the video during his February wedding last year, later obtaining it through deceitful means.
According to authorities, Mishra threatened to share the footage on social media unless his friend paid him substantial sums of money. Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Sanjay Kumar confirmed these allegations, stating that Mishra had coerced the victim multiple times to avoid public exposure.
The police have formally registered a case against Mishra, invoking sections 323, 504, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. As the investigation unfolds, further charges may be applied depending on new evidence and victim statements.
