A potential deal allowing the local production of South Korean K2 tanks in Poland could be signed in the coming weeks, according to Polish President Andrzej Duda. This agreement is expected to significantly boost Warsaw's defense capabilities.

The initiative is part of Poland's strategy to enhance military readiness in response to Russia's ongoing conflict with Ukraine. Previously, Hyundai Rotem of South Korea agreed to deliver 1,000 tanks, though only 180 have been contracted for export so far.

Duda stated that key issues have been resolved, with a decision on production sites pending. The announcement coincides with reports of troop movements, while South Korean officials continue to assess the situation.
