Fugitive Camorra Mobster Captured in Colombia

Italian police have successfully captured Luigi Belvedere, a high-profile member of the Camorra mafia, in Colombia. Belvedere, who has been evading authorities since December 2020, faces nearly 19 years in prison for drug trafficking charges.
The arrest was finalized in Medellin, following crucial intelligence gathered from a well-known messaging service, which was meticulously tracked with the assistance of EU police agency EUROPOL. The fugitive was recognized from a photograph near the grave of infamous Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.
Belvedere was previously found guilty in absentia for his role as an intermediary in cocaine importation for the Camorra's Casalesi clan, in collaboration with Colombian drug cartels. The Camorra, known for its decentralized clan structure, is heavily involved in drug trafficking, counterfeiting, and money laundering.
