In a significant development, security forces have successfully uncovered a substantial cache of arms and ammunition in various districts of Manipur. The operation, which spanned Imphal East, Thoubal, and Chandel districts, led to the recovery of numerous firearms, grenades, and communications devices.

According to a police statement released on Friday, the seizure from Leirong Vaiphei village included four live grenades, detonators, pistols, rifles, and explosive materials. The operation in Thoubal district's B Phainom village further added to the haul with SMG carbines, grenade munitions, and radio sets being recovered by the security forces.

In addition, Assam Rifles made significant seizures from Songkhom and Gunjil villages in Chandel district, including automatic weapons and local mortars. Concurrently, authorities apprehended a 56-year-old man at a Senapati District checkpoint, in possession of illegal plastic cartridges.
