In a landmark judgment on Thursday, a Special POCSO Act court sentenced Choubey Pasi, 26, to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for the heinous crime of raping a minor. The court also imposed a Rs 20,000 fine on him.
The incident came to light after a complaint was filed by the victim's mother on February 3, 2020. The plaintiff reported that Pasi had lured her five-year-old daughter to his house under a false pretense.
Following the conviction, the judge declared that failure to pay the fine would result in an additional six-month imprisonment. The case underscores the ongoing fight for justice in crimes against minors.
