An Urdu teacher providing private tuition in a local housing society was allegedly harassed by residents, demanding him to chant religious slogans, police reported on Thursday.
The main accused, Manoj Kumar, a resident of the Crossings Republik township, was apprehended following the incident, as confirmed by ACP Lipi Nagaich.
The teacher, Mohammad Alamgir, faced obstruction from Kumar and others while attempting to access a student's flat. Despite intervention, the situation worsened, forcing Alamgir to subsequently file a police complaint.
